Collegiate Hall educates students in grades 4-8 for acceptance to, persistance in, and graduation from college.
Equipped with a strong academic foundation and clear moral compass, Collegiate Hall graduates rise above life's challenges to lead on campus, in their communities, and throughout their careers.
Collegiate Hall is founded on the following six beliefs:
Collegiate hall is a free, public school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. All students living in Tulsa are welcome to apply.
If more students apply than there are seats available, entry into Collegiate Hall will be based on lottery. First preference in the lottery is given to students zoned to attend Grimes, Grissom, Key, Marshall, McClure, and Salk Elementary Schools.
Collegiate Hall provides its students a college prepatory education in order to provide all its graduates the opportunity to live a successful life of their choosing.
A recent Pew Report found that:
1. College graduation is correlated with higher annual earnings.
The disparity between earnings of those with a Bachelor’s degree and those without one is at an all-time high - on average, recent college graduates earn $16,000 more per year than those with a two-year degree (or some college) and those with a high school diploma.
2. College graduation is correlated with lower levels of unemployment. The unemployment rate for those with a Bachelor’s degree is 3.8%, compared to 8.1% for those with a two-year degree (or some college) and 12.2% for those with a high school diploma.
3. College graduation is correlated with lower levels of poverty. Only 5.8% of college graduates live in poverty, compared to 14.7% and 21.8% of those that have a two-year degree (or some college) and those that have a high school diploma, respectively.
The data is clear, and they drive our mission: to educate all Collegiate Hall scholars for acceptance to, persistence in, and graduation from college.
Charter schools are free, public schools. They must meet the same academic standards that all public schools are required to meet. They are:
- Open to all students. There is no tuition or admissions test to get in to a charter school. All students, including those qualifying for special education and those qualifying as gifted and talented, are welcome to apply.
- Nonsecretarian. Charter schools, by law, are nonsecretarian and do not discriminate on any basis.
- Publicly funded. Charter shcool funding is based on enrollment. Collegiate Hall was authorized by Tulsa Public Schools in order to provide another quality middle school option for students and families living in Tulsa.
- Innovative. Charter schools have increased autonomy in curriuclum, assessment, teacher professional development, the length of the school day and school year, and budgeting in order to best meet the needs of the students they serve.
- Accountable. Charter schools are held accountable for meeting state and federal academic standards, including state testing requirements. The performance of charter schools is monitored monthly by a Board of Directors and triennially by Tulsa Public Schools.
